Cedric is a law graduate and holds a post-graduate management development qualification from the University of Witwatersrand.

He is a former Barclays and Standard Bank manager in the structured finance divisions.

Cedric focuses on the deal origination and structuring of debt-related transactions for the bespoke debt solutions to various companies requiring structured debt solutions (from R1 million to R20 million capacity).

Cedric enjoys relationships with several of South Africa’s leading banks and Asset Managers.

He also has experience in commercial, industrial, and retail property funding transactions through his association with Rawson Auctions.
Kevin Clench
Executive Member

Kevin holds a BSc in Building Management degree from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (Durban Campus).

Kevin has 28 years of experience in the property finance arena covering private equity, secured mezzanine and senior debt property finance in both the private and investment banking sector, as well as property development and property investment.

Before moving into the private sector in 2007, Kevin held various senior property finance roles at BoE Corporate, FNB Corporate/RMB Property Finance, and Barclays South Africa.

He was Head of Property Finance for Barclays Bank Dubai and the UAE/Gulf region.

Kevin returned to South Africa in 2007, taking up the position of Managing Director at M Capital, a leading mezzanine finance provider for South African property developers.

Kevin currently manages his private equity book and, with Lilac Moon Finance, focuses primarily on more significant property-related transactions.


Shawn Thompson

Shawn holds a BCom from the University of the Witwatersrand, an Honours degree in Economics from UNISA, and has completed various offshore and domestic financial markets courses, including SAFEX.

He has held several senior positions in the banking sector, including Group Treasurer of SBM Group and COO of Investec Bank Mauritius.

His experience spans financial risk management, corporate governance, offshore board participation, and strategic execution across multiple sectors.

Having been based in Mauritius for several years, he brings deep knowledge of the jurisdiction and a strong focus on delivery and risk management.
Chris Gulle

Chris holds a Bachelor of Business Science from the University of Cape Town and is a qualified CFA charter holder.

Strong background in sell-side corporate advisory, with transaction experience from origination to closing.

Chris focuses on structuring and executing alternative credit solutions for clients and, through Lilac Moon Finance, raises approximately R300 million in private debt funding annually.

Chris brings an analytical and outcome-driven approach to deal-making, drawing on a background in sell-side corporate advisory and capital raising.


Connor Bell
Senior Deal Analyst

Connor holds a BCom (Hons) from the University of the Witwatersrand in Corporate Finance, Investment and Financial Risk Management, following an undergraduate degree in Economics and Taxation. He holds the FMVA designation, is a CFA candidate, and is furthering his qualifications through CGISA.

He has a strong background across listed asset-backed securitisation, large corporate lending, and private SMME credit, with experience spanning both structuring and execution.

Connor focuses on the application of commercial law and deal structuring, translating legal and commercial frameworks into bankable funding solutions.

Connor brings a pragmatic and commercially minded approach to capital raising, supported by a strong interest in corporate governance, investor relations and disciplined capital deployment.
Sydney Long
Legal & Compliance Officer

Sydney brings a detail-oriented, solutions-driven approach to legal and compliance within the private credit environment.

An admitted legal practitioner in South Africa, holding an LLB (summa cum laude), she supports transaction execution through the preparation and negotiation of commercial and security documentation, the implementation of FICA and KYC processes, and ongoing post-transaction monitoring.

She has experience across the full deal lifecycle, from initial client onboarding and due diligence through to funding, covenant tracking, and loan repayment, enabling her to provide commercially pragmatic and risk-aware legal support. Sydney works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance while facilitating efficient deal execution.
