OUR BACKGROUND:
Cedric Greenwood decided to leave the formal corporate banking sector and operate as an entrepreneur in the structured debt origination space of the broader SMME market. Cedric believed in his ability to add value in this market by being part of two JSE Listings in 1997 and 2000 and having served as part of the Exco teams in both companies. The focus application of his skill set is in the SMME sector, a sector largely ignored by financial institutions and from which a significant migration of expertise has occurred over the years. SMMEs found that access to qualified banking personnel was difficult and adversely impacted their businesses. It is this gap that Lilac Moon looks to fulfil and serve.
OVERVIEW OF THE BUSINESS:
Lilac Moon’s focus is primarily on the South African market. But we enjoy a close professional relationship with the Mauritius investment banks and have secured close working ties. This allows access to broader funding opportunities that can be applied to SA clients doing business in foreign markets & in which hard currencies are being generated. We assist with:

Arranging short to medium working capital loans, invoice discounting (factoring), trade finance, asset-based finance (rental, Instalment Sale or Lease and property-related loans.

With deal sizes from R1 million to R50 million being the preferred quantum – But we can extend beyond this amount if required.

Our turnaround time is typically between 2 to 4 weeks from engagement depending on the timeous provision of information and the complexity of the transaction.

The focus of these loan arrangements is generally more on the underlying security than the affordability – making them usually easier to secure for the clients.
